【PUMM Sarawak Chartered and Installation Night successfully held on 3rd March 2023】
Malaysia Entrepreneurs' Development Association (PUMM) Sarawak State Liaison held its Chartered and Installation Night from 2-4 March 2023 in Miri, Sarawak. The event included a PUMM Entrepreneur Talk and Networking Dinner on 2nd March at VIP Vibes in Paradise and a PUMM Golf Tournament 2023 on 3rd March at the Eastwood Golf & Country Club, followed by the Chartered and Installation Night at the exact location that evening.
On 2nd March, the event started with a PUMM Entrepreneur Talk & Networking Dinner at VIP Vibes in Paradise, providing a platform for entrepreneurs to network and share their experiences. PUMM Sarawak State Advisor, Datuk Ling Suk Kiong and PUMM Immediate Past President, Dato Tony Looi shared their entrepreneurship and gave insights and advice during the Talk and Business Networking Dinner.
On 3rd March, PUMM signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Riam Institute of Technology (RIAMTEC) to strengthen collaboration between the two organizations. The purpose of the MOU is to encourage youth entrepreneurship starting from the student years and provide students with practical opportunities to practice beginning a business. The honorable representatives from RIAMTEC present at the MOU signing included the Chairman of RIAMTEC, Dato Sri Law Kiu Kiong, Board of Directors Cr Kueh Chie Tiong, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Pauline Ho, Executive Dean, Mr. Joseph Tan, Dean for MQA, Mdm Florence Wong.
Dato Sri Law Kiu Kiong shared his entrepreneurial journey with PUMM members. Dato Sri Law is the founder and director of the Woodman Group, which has core businesses in oil palm plantations, shipbuilding, and freight services. He is one of the most prominent businessmen in Sarawak, with the wealth of experience and knowledge to share with young entrepreneurs.
Later in the day, the PUMM Golf Tournament 2023 was held at the Eastwood Golf & Country Club, followed by the PUMM Sarawak Chartered and Installation Night. The Guest of Honor, Yang Berhormat Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, Minister of Transport Sarawak, gave a speech that highlighted the crucial role played by PUMM in developing the country's economy. In his address, Lee Kim Shin encouraged all entrepreneurs to keep pace with the fast-developing new era by embracing digital transformation. The speech was received positively by the audience and underscored the commitment of the government to support the business community in Sarawak.
The first Chairlady of PUMM Sarawak State Liaison, Lina Hu Choo Ling, was officially appointed at the Installation Ceremony. In her inspiring speech, she spoke candidly about the difficulties she faced in forming the committee and the ups and downs of the process. Despite the challenges, she expressed her unwavering confidence in successfully leading the committee. Furthermore, she emphasized that PUMM Sarawak members aspire to break out of their comfort zone and expand their business influence beyond the local level, with the ultimate goal of making an impact on a global scale. The event also witnessed the official appointment of the first newly formed PUMM Sarawak state committee, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the organization's history.
The Installation Night saw the participation of various dignitaries, including the State Minister of Transport of Sarawak, YB Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, YB Mayor of Miri Adam Yii, Representative of Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew, Member of Parliament Miri, YB Chiew Choon Man, Sarawak State Advisor, Datuk James Ling, Datin Wong Siew Hong, Joint Chairman of Riam Institute of Technology & Riam Road Secondary School, Dato' Sri Law Kiu Kiong, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Pauline Ho, CEO of Vibes in Paradise, Datuk Chieng, Chairman of IBS College, Dr. Anthony Hii.
Participants included PUMM National President, Tan Lay Seong, National Deputy President, Nelson Beh, Immediate Past President, Dato Tony Looi, all PUMM State Liaison Chairmen, and PUMM members. PUMM expressed sincere gratitude to the exceptional efforts of the Organizing Chairman, Stephen Yio, for meticulously planning and executing a successful night.
【青创会砂拉越州联委会创会之夜及就职典礼于2023年3月3日圆满落幕】
2023年3月2日至4日，马来西亚创业促进会（青创会；PUMM）砂拉越州联委会在美里举行创会之夜及就职典礼。活动包括3月2日青创会企业家分享讲座及商业交流晚餐，3月3日的青创会高尔夫锦标赛，以及同晚的创会之夜及就职典礼。
3月2日，青创会企业家分享讲座及商业交流晚餐在打卡赞 VIP Vibes in Paradise 拉开帷幕，为企业家提供交流和分享经验的平台。青创会砂拉越州联委会顾问，拿督林淑强以及辅导会长，拿督雷智雄博士在交流会上分享了自身在创业道路上的心得和感悟，使会员们获益良多。
3月3日，青创会与廉律理工学院签署合作备忘录，以进一步加强双方合作关系，并为更多学生提供实践创业的机会。此签署仪式由廉律理工学院董事长，拿督斯里刘久健、廉律理工学院首席执行官，何宝玲、青创会全国总会长，陈礼祥、青创会砂拉越州联委会主席，傅珠鈴共同签署。
廉律理工学院联合董事长，拿督斯里刘久健向青创会分享了他的创业历程。拿督斯里刘久健为 Woodman Group 创始人，该集团的核心业务是油棕种植、造船和货运服务。他是砂拉越最成功的商人之一，用最资深的经验和知识给予企业家很好的建议及劝勉。
青创会高尔夫球锦标赛在东林高尔夫俱乐部举行，接着是青创会砂拉越州联委会创会之夜及就职典礼。其中，砂拉越交通部长，拿督斯里李景胜作为该晚主宾发表对青创会砂州联委会的恭贺致辞。李景胜表示，青创会将在砂州的经济发展中扮演重要的角色，同时也鼓励所有企业家通过数字化转型与快速发展的新时代保持同步。
青创会砂州联委会主席，傅珠鈴在就职典礼上被正式委任。在她的致辞中，她坦率地谈到了组建联委会时的重重困难。尽管面临挑战，她坚定的决心和魄力使砂州联委会迈向成立。她强调青创会砂州联委会会员需要跳开舒适圈，扩大业务影响力，超越本地层面，迈向全国。此晚见证了历史上第一个青创会砂州联委会的正式成立，标志着青创会历史新篇章的开始。
就职典礼贵宾包括砂拉越交通部长，拿督斯里李景胜、砂拉越美里市长，俞小珊、砂旅游、创意产业及表演艺术部副部长（旅游），拿督陈超耀的代表本固鲁李进兴、美里区国会议员，赵俊文、青创会砂拉越州联委会顾问，拿督林淑强和拿汀黄秀芳、廉律理工学院联合董事长，拿督斯里刘久健、廉律理工学院首席执行官，何宝玲、青创会全国总会长，陈礼祥、全国署理总会长，马俊豪、辅导会长，拿督雷智雄博士、全体青创会联委会主席及成员。青创会向本此活动筹委会主席姚智严表示感谢，恭贺就职典礼晚宴圆满落幕。
